He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. She worked at SSK Ege Gynecology and Maternity Home Family Planning Clinic for 3 years. During this period, she took part in health personnel training as a Family Planning educator. She started the Public Health doctorate program in 1993 and became a research assistant at Dokuz Eylül University Health Sciences Institute in 1995. She received her PhD in Public Health in 1998. In the same year, she started working at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Public Health. She still works as a faculty member at the same institution. His work in the field of public health mostly focuses on women's health, sexual and reproductive health, child health, school health, health promotion and tobacco control. She served as the Vice President of Dokuz Eylül University Narlıdere Education Research and Health Region, Member of the Executive Board of Dokuz Eylül University Women's Rights and Problems Research and Application Center, and President of the Association of Public Health Specialists. She has worked in the Ministry of Health, Breastmilk-Lactation Science Commission, School Health Science Commission, National Tobacco Control Working Group, National Working Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disaster and Emergencies she. She still takes part in the Working Groups of the Turkish Medical Association, Izmir Medical Chamber and the Association of Public Health Specialists.
