prof. Dr. Marcus Graf was born in Germany in 1974. After studying in the Department of Plastic Arts and Art Science at the Faculty of Cultural Science and Aesthetic Communication at Hildesheim University, she worked as a project manager, curator, educator, writer and artist in various arts institutions. In 2010, he received his doctorate from the Institute of Contemporary Art History, Aesthetics and Art Theory at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art, Germany. Graf, who has been working as a faculty member at Yeditepe University Fine Arts Faculty since 2003, received the title of professor in 2017 and has been working as the Head of Yeditepe University Fine Arts Faculty Art and Culture Management Department since 2019.

Living in Istanbul since 2001, Marcus Graf has curated more than one hundred exhibitions in various institutions such as Siemens Sanat, Plato Sanat, Akbank Sanat, Milli Reasürans, Contemporary Istanbul, Pera Museum, Museum Gazhane, Baksı Museum, Erimtan Museum and Elgiz Museum.

Having worked as an art writer in many books, book chapters, exhibition catalogues and magazines, Graf lives in Istanbul as an academy, curator and art writer.
