Mehmet KAHYAOĞLU

In 1986, D.E.U. He graduated from the Mining Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. During his work in the sector, T.C. He received the Professional Tourist Guidance right from the Ministry of Culture, then returned to his education and graduated from E.Ü. He received his bachelor's degree from the Byzantine Department of Art History at the Faculty of Letters, again at E.U. He received his Master's (2002) and Doctorate (2010) degrees from the Byzantine Department of the Social Sciences Institute. He took part in various EU projects coordinated by the Brussels/Vienna-based organization Museum With No Frontiers (MWNF). In 2000-2001, he was the manager of İzmir Sanat, which is affiliated to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Between 2001-2005 and 2007-2010 D.E.Ü. He worked as a lecturer at G.S.F. Between 2005-2007, he was in Brussels as the vice president of MWNF's Discover Islamic Art (islamicart.museumwnf.org) project. He worked on MWNF's Discover Baroque Art (http://baroqueart.museumwnf.org) and Sharing History (sharinghistory.museumwnf.org) projects. Between 2008 and 2010, he was the Art Consultant of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center. He has been working at Yaşar University, Faculty of Art and Design, Graphic Design Department since September 2010. He undertook the duties of Art and Design Department Head (2012-2015) and Deputy Dean (2013-2017) at the Social Sciences Institute of the same university. In addition to art history, mythology and iconography, he gives lectures and academic studies on visual culture, cultural history and gastronomy culture. He took part in many EU projects as an executive or content producer at Yaşar University. Among these are the European Perspectives on Cultural Codes in Art (EPOCCA) held in 2012 and 2013, and the Jean Monnet module An experience of multi-cultural co-existence: Art and culture as a means of EU integration and co-existence between 2015-2018 countable. In 2017 and 2018, he curated UTAS exhibitions within the framework of the Good Design event organized by the IMM Mediterranean Academy.
