Meriç Aktaş Ateş, who graduated from Yeditepe University Fine Arts Faculty Art Management Department and Plastic Arts Department with honors, completed her master's degree in the Art Management Department of the same university, again with an honor degree. She is currently continuing her Proficiency in Art (PhD) program at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Plastic Arts. Ateş, who started his career as an art manager during his school years, did an internship at Galeri Baraz and Istanbul Art Museum Foundation in 2002, and had his first work experience with the organizations of Artdepo Art Gallery (Gallery Binyıl) between 2003-2006. Ateş, who managed many important projects such as “Art at Akmerkez” events and “Beşiktaş Çağdaş” opening exhibitions, worked as the General Coordinator of Beyaz Auctions between 2008 and 2011, and in 2006, "mericaktas.com "art management" brought art lovers together. Ateş , was one of the writers of todaybugece.com for a while and made important contributions to the culture and art life with his column.After working as a faculty member at Işık University Art Theory and Criticism Department, Ateş has been a part of Swissotel Büyük Efes İzmir since 2013. It has launched Efes Sanat and organizes different art events (exhibitions, panels, publications, participation in art fairs, etc.) within Büyük Efes Sanat with the mission of supporting art and artists. Ateş, who is also interested in projects, carried out the “From Waste to Art” project of Istanbul Airport IGA in 2019.
