A Corner of Heaven

Today I will tell you about a place to rest your soul. A corner of paradise in Selimiye, Badem Tatil Evi.

Many of us also seek the comfort of our homes in the hotels we stay. To put it bluntly, I am a total comfort freak. The cleanliness of the room, the usefulness of the room and the feeling of value that the hotel will offer you besides being a hotel are very important to me. This is where the difference of Badem Tatil Evi emerges. Let me tell you a little about it. Owners Nebiye Olçar and Türkan Taşpınar are smiling, courteous, sincere people and most importantly, they approach you as if you were a guest in their home. All hotel staff are the same. Everyone serves their guests with a smile.

My first visit to Badem Tatil Evi was on October 29, 2019, upon the recommendation of a friend. We wanted to go on the same dates last year, but it was closed early due to the pandemic. The first time I went, my experience was great. The welcome, the kindness of the employees, the food and the cleanliness were very good. The hotel has many features. One of them is that it has a dark of its own. When you want to swim in the sea, it is very nice that the captain comes and takes you to the bay by boat. Thus, you feel the luxury and privilege of swimming in a private bay. In addition, your lunches and drinks come to the bay when you order. The pleasure of a privileged holiday starts here. Another nice thing is that the hotel kitchen can cook anything you and your family want to eat. Since my son was two years old at that time, this service was perfect for me. Badem prepared a menu for my son. I returned home (to İzmir) after staying two nights and never wanting to return.

My last month has been spent battling my allergies and most importantly my son's sensitivity to allergies. Come on, I can hear you say what diseases are there, of course it's true, but when it comes to children, people can be very sensitive. My wife wanted to go to Badem for a few nights last weekend so that our minds would be distracted, and we got ready right away. I called Nebiye Hanım beforehand, told her the room I wanted and of course I wanted the room and under the beds to be cleaned very well. I talked about my son and my situation. Ms. Nebiye was very understanding of the situation and said, "Okay, Semrac, don't worry, don't worry," and when I went, I saw that she personally took care of the cleaning of the room. Very pleased to meet you. We spent the day by the sea and walking. For dinner, there was barbecue kebab. Maybe if you went to Adana, you wouldn't be able to eat this good one. The appetizers, the ambiance, the burning fireplace were great despite all my fatigue.

As I wasn't in a good mood that weekend, I got a fever of 39.5 degrees on the first night of the stay. My wife immediately called reception and they said they could provide ambulance support. As you know, we are in Selimiye, there is neither a doctor nor a hospital. Then, Nebiye Hanım called from her house. She said don't panic, I'm sending vinegar and ice, she said she could come if needed. In addition, for my comfort, she told me that she could open the spare room next door if I wanted to. In which hotel can you hear this? There is no financial expectation here, everything is for the comfort of the guest. Then the receptionist brought ice and vinegar. They checked on us all night. What I said to my wife at night was that if I had to go to the hospital, we would entrust our four-year-old son Pamir to Ms. Nebiye. Even though it was forced at night, my fever dropped a little and we slept.

It's morning. My son is awake. When we went to the breakfast section, Ms. Türkan, who wanted to put pillows on my back, came to our table right away. Crepes were made for my son Pamir, and lemonades arrived. I don't need to mention the quality of breakfast. Hotel owners offer their own homemade food to their customers. The olives are set up by Nebiye Hanım, the breakfast foods, coffees and teas are all beautiful. The hotel location overlooks Selimiye Village. The evening view is wonderful. You can easily reach the bazaar by descending a slope whenever you want. If you also want to experience peace, quiet and quality accommodation, I strongly recommend you to try Badem Tatil Evi.Badel Tatil Evi got 9.4 points in Booking and was selected as one of the ten best boutique hotels in Turkey by The Guardian this year. Isn't she happy? The commercial success of these two elegant ladies makes even me proud. I love places that make people feel valued, valuable and privileged. You will also feel this feeling at Badem Tatil Evi. The hotel is closing on October 20 this year, but I would definitely say go next year. Let your soul rest.
